AIMS AND VALUESFlegg High School is committed:
Wishing to secure good behaviour by pupils in all areas of school life, the Governing Body and staff of Flegg High School aim to promote – and reward – sound discipline, proper regard for authority and positive relationships based on mutual respect. They seek to encourage fair treatment and a prompt, consistent response to disciplinary issues, and to provide a safe environment free from disruption, violence, bullying and harassment. They try to develop a shared approach with parents and carers, involving them in the implementation of this policy and its procedures. All schools in Norfolk want their pupils to be healthy, happy and safe, and to achieve. They recognise that parents, guardians or carers play an important part in making this happen. Cooperation between parents, staff and governors leads to a shared sense of purpose and a good atmosphere in the school. This procedure was adopted by the Governing Body on 22nd May 2006 in order to provide a clear and fair process for handling concerns and complaints. Flegg High School fully recognises its responsibility, outlined in the 2002 Education Act, for providing a safe environment for its pupils, for establishing and implementing the procedures set out by our Area Child Protection Committee, and for supporting pupils perceived to be at risk. This policy is based on the principle that all pupils, without exception or reservation, should have access to an appropriate education which enables them to achieve their full potential. The school does its best to create a culture of learning, setting suitable challenges and responding to varied needs and abilities. For their part, pupils are included as fully as possible in the decision-making structure, and together with their parents are encouraged to participate in a positive working partnership with the school. |
