HEAD OF FACULTY

The Head of the Languages Faculty is Mrs. G. Stockings, who joined Flegg’s English Department in 1998 and now teaches KS4 Media and English groups.

Mrs. Stockings has been Head of Faculty since September 2004, and was previously Head of Julian House.  She introduced and pioneered our Media Studies course, and has always been closely involved with school plays – usually to be found backstage with a team of pupils.  As she enjoys extra-curricular activities with students, she is passionate about the Faculty Committee and the opportunities for working together which it brings.

Like her husband (and the family cat), Mrs. Stockings is a devotee of sport and fitness.  Their daughter, Eloise, was born in 2006, but she still attends regular gym sessions which include dance and (pupils beware!) combat training; she runs half-marathons and takes part in charity events such as 100-mile cycle rides. Her favourite holidays have to include cycling, skiing or tennis.  And she still finds time to train the cat……. 

ENGLISH

English is led by Mrs. Paddison at KS4 and Miss Galeski at KS3.  Staff are Mrs. Stockings, Mrs. McInally, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Rees-Williams, Mrs. Badger, Miss Hunt, Miss Wildey and Miss Gordon.

FRENCH

The subject is led by Mrs. Crawford.  Other French teachers are Ms. Morris, Ms. Cassam and Mr. Kounapte. 

SPANISH

Spanish is run and delivered by Mrs. Vettese, assisted by Ms. Morris, Ms. Cassam, Ms. Francis and Mr. Kounapte.

MEDIA

Media is taught by Mrs. Stockings. 

HISTORY

The subject leader is Mrs. Highet.  Mr. Ward (Deputy Head), Miss Hunt and Ms. Bostock also teach History.
 

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

RE is led by Mr. Pull.  Other members of staff  deliver RE teaching too:  Mr. Ward, Mrs. Rees-Williams, Miss Wildey, Miss Butler and Mr. Elliott.

CITIZENSHIP

The subject leader is Mr. Pull, supported by RE staff and other members of the Faculty team.

We are supported by various Teaching Assistants depending on timetabling requirements.
